Why Sharing the Faith With Our Kids is Essential
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope the past few weeks have been full of time with family and friends. Today, I shared over on social media my reaction to when I hear a parent saying they don’t want to “impose” their faith on the their kids, and instead will allow them to choose the faith when they’re older. To be honest, I think most parents who share this opinion have the best intentions for their child. They feel it wrong to impose their faith on their kids, as if it were some sort of assault on their free will and liberty — but I’m sorry to say that…

St. John Paul II and Seeking Jesus
Today is the Feast of St John Paul II. Honestly, he is one of my favorites! To encounter JPII was to encounter a true Father. He had a special love for young people — and we felt that love with every event, every word directed towards us. He understood our search for meaning and purpose and happiness in our lives — and he had a way of helping us understand that Jesus was the source of all of it. He understood our restlessness, and he met it with the TRUTH — he was willing to speak the truth, even when it was difficult or unpopular — and that truth SET…

Trying to Get Back Into the Pace of Life and Some Quotes that Keep Me Going
Hello everybody! I’ve been trying to get back to regular posting over here, trying to find my pace in every day life, and trying to readjust to school beginning next week. Suffice it to say, I’m still working on finding the rhythm that will work for myself and the family. I’m going to try to post an actual post next week, but here’s some quotes I’ve been sharing over on my public pages on Instagram and Facebook. Speaking of that, I’m also trying to find the balance between posting over there and writing here….often I find myself posting there every day and then trying to write weekly over here…which has…

How Denying Communion to Somebody Can Be a Merciful and Loving Act
Okay, going to say this up front, “YES!” to deny somebody Communion can actually be the most loving and merciful act a Bishop can do. Now, hear me out on this one. There is much discussion right now about the Bishops coming up with a united message and policy in regards to approaching a public figure who is persisting in serious sin in a public way and then presenting themselves for communion. To be honest, in many ways, this question was already solved about 2,000 years ago with one of our very first priests and Bishops, St. Paul. That’s right, he addressed this very question because he saw people getting…

Crazy May, So Here’s a Sneak Peak at Next Week’s Post
May has always been a bit crazy — and surprisingly, this May is no different — which means my weekly post will be delayed until next week. But here’s a little sneak peek…it has to do with a crazy run through metros and getting out of Barcelona right before disaster hit. It taught me a lot about the importance of not staring at the darkness for too long. Also, please sign up for posts via e-mail, so you’ll know whenever I post. I promise I never spam people….don’t have the time, people. 🙂 It’s just a way to keep in touch and let you know when posts have hit. Also…

The March for Life and a Call To Speak the Truth in Love
I’ve shared before that my mother is one of the founders of the March for Life. She was a “stay-at-home” mom, pregnant with her 4th child (me), when she traveled to DC to meet with 6 people to decide what to do about the one year anniversary of Roe V. Wade. Little did she, or anybody at that meeting, know that they would become the founding members of the largest human rights march in the history of the world. Let it be known, this March was founded on Love — love for all people of every race, creed and ability — and that Love is what makes it different from…

Moira’s Purgatory
Hello Everybody! Have you ever started a project that you imagined would last a week or two — and one month in, you’re still working on it — with no end in sight? Well, that’s what I did. In my defense, life seems to have gotten back to a healthy pace — and my “helpers” lives have also grown more busy — hence being in the middle of a basement revamp with no end in sight. It brings to mind a place in Ireland, my niece Kate told me about, called Patrick’s Purgatory. It’s a place in which nobody is allowed to sleep or eat more than dry toast and…

Everybody Is Lined Up For My Computer. No Post Today.
Hello everybody! I’m sorry to say that everybody is lined up for computers right now — as all classes have gone online for the unforeseeable future — which means I have to get off and let school happen for my kids. You can always follow along on Facebook or Instagram, because I can post from my phone. God bless us everyone!

Fear is Useless; What is Needed is Trust
Today is the day I have to get all our financials together for our accountant. It’s honestly my least favorite thing about having a family business — but at least, it’s Lent and this is the perfect time of year to have to deal with it. So no post today, but I did want to encourage all of you who find yourself afraid of all the talk about Corona Virus to take a step away from all the news for a while. Instead, immerse yourself in the Word. The title of this post is taken from one of the translations of Luke 8:50: “Fear is Useless. What is needed is…
