Hiking the Cliffs of Moher… a.k.a That Time We Almost Died (Twice)
If we knew then, what we know now, we likely wouldnât have made the hike up to the Cliffs of Moher. Donât get me wrong, it was breathtakingly beautiful and invigorating and every step made you appreciate the grandeur of Godâs creation. I mean, look at these views! Granted, there was a wee bit of danger involved â eventually the only thing separating you and your kids from a 700 foot drop to the ocean was good sense and a little bit of skill. Somebody please explain to me why anybody would be tempted to skip a beatiful hike through the the Spanish mountains, surrounded by views like these: For me, it came down to resistance. Resistance: it’s become a popular term among Catholics, but it’s roots reach all the way back to the earliest days of Christianity. Perhaps St. Paul put it best, “I do not understand my own actions.
