    Why We Call It Good Friday

    Oh, what wondrous love is this — God made Man so that He could die for us and save us from our sins! NO GREATER LOVE! And this is why we call that dark and awful day — almost 2,000 years ago — “Good”. God made it good. He took what was horrific and brutal and unjust — and He transformed it into the possibility of new life for all of us.     “Why is tonight different from all other nights?” The phrase appears at the beginning of each line of The Four Questions, traditionally asked by the youngest child during the celebration of the Jewish Passover Seder. It’s a great question to ask ourselves as we enter into the Triduum.
