Roe V. Wade and Where Do We Go From Here?

    May 6, 2022 /

Apparently leaked documents seem to indicate that Roe V. Wade will be overturned in the Supreme Court and the fight will be brought back to the States — which most constitutional scholars agree (whether or not they support abortion) should have been the case, all along. So where do we go from here? If this leaked document does in fact indicate the final decision that will be coming this summer, what should we be doing to prepare for it? Politically, we already see various groups working in their states to amend constitutions to allow for abortion for all 9 months, for any reason — some political leaders (for example, Ralph…

    Winning at Life

    January 23, 2022 /

Spoiler Alert: This is not a “how-to” post — I am no expert at winning at life. One thing I’ve observed, though, in those truly happy people I have encountered in life seems to be the willingness to let go of control and even of one’s own plans for their life and to be open to the plans that God has for them. It seems that those who are docile to the Holy Spirit — docile to allowing God to lead them through all the twists of life and trust Him in the midst of it — these are the people who are more disposed to not only finding joy…

The March for Life and a Call To Speak the Truth in Love

    January 29, 2021 /

I’ve shared before that my mother is one of the founders of the March for Life. She was a “stay-at-home” mom, pregnant with her 4th child (me), when she traveled to DC to meet with 6 people to decide what to do about the one year anniversary of Roe V. Wade. Little did she, or anybody at that meeting, know that they would become the founding members of the largest human rights march in the history of the world. Let it be known, this March was founded on Love — love for all people of every race, creed and ability — and that Love is what makes it different from…

To Be Pro-Life is To Love Those Who Have Chosen Abortion

    January 24, 2020 /

I write this on the morning of the 47th Annual March for Life. Three of my own kids are in attendance and they’ll join likely half a million other people for the largest human rights demonstration in the world. In this increasingly divisive, politically-charged, climate that we find ourselves in, I think that it’s important that we all remember that being pro-life is not about politics — it’s about people — and it always has been. In fact, if you go to the March for Life — you will not find condemnation for those who have had abortions. You will find love — and lots of it! But a regular…

    Dream Bigger

    January 17, 2020 /

Full disclosure: the early years of marriage and babies weren’t always easy. In fact, I dare say they were the most challenging years of my life — but they also were the biggest years of growth for me. Coincidence? I think not. In fact those early years with babies involved a lot of pruning — the cutting back of the selfishness, the self centered-ness that I had no idea was so prevalent in my life. Am I still selfish — yep! But the subtle shift from “me” to “we” has taken root in my life. My greatest aspirations have shifted from “my dreams” to “our dreams” — both John’s and…

The Early Days of the March for Life & Why We March Now

    January 18, 2019 /

My mother is one of the founders of the March for Life. Let it be known that these people did not hate women. Hate was never the foundation of this movement. In fact, to this day, you would be hard-pressed to find a woman hater in the…
