I Wish You a Merry Christmas!

As this is my lost post before Christmas, I figured it was the perfect time to wish you a Merry Christmas!

I hope your Christmas Season is beautiful and full of so much joy you can hardly stand it! Try to let go of ridiculous expectations and keep the celebrations light-hearted and focused on the people in your midst.

One of the things I love about being Catholic is that Christmas is a Season — which means there isn’t as much pressure to get all the Joy of Christmas packed into one day.

We have days and weeks to celebrate and let the Joy of Christ really sink deep into your hearts. Hooray for that!

This last week has been focused primarily on two things: getting the house in order and getting our souls in order so we can truly experience Christmas and the graces this Season has to offer.

Which basically means we have been doing lots decorating and made sure we had time to pray and get to confession this week.

The good news is that I did the “getting the house in order” before I did the “getting the soul in order” — turns out that was good planning on my part.

There may have been a few “choice words” said in anger during the hanging of cedar roping. It’s not as easy as one would think!

There may also have been a few “choice words” directed at children who decided to take advantage of the fact that — while up on a ladder — mom was very little threat to their devious plans.

Let me tell you, cedar roping is more difficult to hang than it looks!

I can neither confirm nor deny such allegations. (#guiltyascharged)

The good news is we have all since gone to confession and our sins are forgiven and we now have plenty of cheerful spaces to enjoy this Christmas Season.

Speaking of confession, let me tell you, I can feel the difference in our home since we have all been to confession. It is truly palpable.

God wants us to enjoy our family and friends this time of year — and I have to say, there is often so much pressure that we put on ourselves that we often find that we are “not the best version of ourselves”.

We’re only human and there is much that makes this a stressful time of year — but confession is an amazing way to diffuse all that pressure and refocus on what matters.

I highly recommend you take advantage of the grace of the Sacrament. It will do wonders for truly experiencing the joy and peace of the Christmas Season.

There are so many other things that I could say to you, but I’m getting ready to welcome some family to our home — so I’ll leave you with one final thought as we enter into the final days before Christmas.

God wants us to experience His peace today and throughout the Christmas Season. He wants that for us, even more than we want it for ourselves, but it requires some action on our part.

Jesus is offering us His Peace this Christmas Season and into the New Year!

We can’t possibly expect Christ’s peace to come into our hearts if we allow the cares of the world to choke it and restrict it.

If you want to begin to experience the peace of Christ, there is no other way than to make time to pray. Prayer is the pathway to peace.

It is the way to peace because it is nothing more than a conversation with Christ — Who is the Prince of Peace.

Jesus is offering His Peace to us this Christmas Season and into the New Year. The question is, “Are we going to take Him up on His offer?”

Don’t let prayer drop out with the busyness of this time of year.

You and your family will thank you for keeping that commitment — otherwise you just might become “Momzilla” and nobody wants that!

If you want a life of abundance in this New Year than make a resolution to pray every day. That’s it.

I promise you will reap the rewards of peace and joy and love in abundance.

Merry Christmas and see you in the New Year, God willing!

I’m taking next week off to spend with family and friends — but you can still follow along and keep in touch over on my Instagram and Facebook pages.

God bless us, everyone!
